What is Format for Windows 10 Recovery USB?

I am going to make a Windows 10 recovery USB, and which format is the right one, NTFS or FAT32? Can anyone help me?

When it comes to creating Windows 10 recovery USB, the standard format used is NTFS.

NTFS is the default file system, as it removes some limitations that might cause problems, like the 4GB file size limit that FAT32 has. Besides, it supports file compression. Therefore, you can choose the NTFS for your Windows 10 bootable USB drive to ensure the system successfully installs.

Please note that if you find the resulting Recovery Drive file has been re-formatted to FAT32 by the Microsoft program automatically, it is normal. According to reliable information, Although Windows will format the disc as FAT32 throughout the processing, the formation tool needs the drive to be formatted as NTFS to start.

Once you had created a recovery USB drive for Windows 10 before your computer ran into an issue, that's no problem because you can use it to restore your PC back to a working state.
