Change Hard Disk for Windows Server 2008R2, What Should I Do

I have an HP ML350 G6 Window Server 2008 R2, 6 x 300G Hard Disk in Raid 5, but I plan to switch to a 6 x 3T Hard Disk in Raid 5. I'd like to know how to copy the OS into the new hard disk.

If you want to replace your hard drive, you can take cloning to transfer your operating system and important data to the new drive. Cloning is archiving or backing up everything on your hard drive. Windows built-in tools do not provide cloning capabilities. You need to use a third-party tool, such as EaseUS Partition Master Server.

This is safe and trustworthy disk management software. It allows you to migrate your Windows operating system to another hard drive without reinstalling it.

Note: Make sure the new hard disk is larger than the old one. And if it is new, you need to initialize it to GPT or MBR

Then you can easily clone your system using EaseUS Partition Master Server. Here are the simple steps to follow.

Step 1. Start EaseUS Partition Master and select "Clone."

Step 2. Select "Migrate OS" and click "Next" to continue selecting the target disc.

Step 3. Click "Yes" in the warning window and start cloning the system.

After the cloning is complete, you need to use the new hard drive as a boot drive in the BIOS. Here are the simple steps.

Step 1. Reboot your PC and press F2/F8 or Del to enter BIOS.

Step 2. Move to the boot section and set the new SSD as the boot drive.

Step 3. Save and reboot.
